About netbobr
Engineering Stronger Network Dams
netbobr started as a joke between me and a few former colleagues - a half-serious idea about what it would take to automate the “you should have known better” conversation that follows a bad firewall request. The joke stuck, so I decided to take it further and bring it to life as a free, privacy-oriented security tool.
netbobr is a firewall request risk analyzer built for everyone involved in the firewall change process. For network, infrastructure, and application teams, it shows what issues - if any - a request is likely to trigger during security review, so they can fix scoping problems before submitting. For security teams, it works as a risk analyzer and advisor, surfacing rule violations across PCI-DSS, CIS, and NIST frameworks in seconds.

About me

Hi, I’m Mindaugas, a Network and Cloud Security Consultant. Since starting as a network engineer at Barclays, I’ve transitioned into Cyber Security and focused on building and securing critical IT infrastructure for organizations like Nasdaq, Danske Bank, and Technip Energies.
At Nasdaq, I served as Principal of Information Security Architecture and Director of Firewall Engineering, where I led a global team of 9 engineers supporting 500+ firewall clusters across critical financial services infrastructure. Since 2021, I run my own cybersecurity consulting firm, working as a consulting partner to CISOs and cybersecurity leadership teams across Europe, specializing in end-to-end cloud security transformations - from strategy and solution design to implementation, automation, and adoption.
I hold active certifications including CISSP, CCSK, Kubernetes CKA and CKS, Azure Architect Expert, and Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert. I’m also a Wiz MVP.
What I do
When I’m not helping enterprises secure their cloud environments, I build tools to solve the real-world problems I’ve seen security teams struggle with. That’s how netbobr came about - a firewall request risk analyzer born from years of experience in firewall engineering and network security operations.
This blog covers the challenges of network security operations, firewall management, and the engineering work behind netbobr. I write about the problems that security teams face every day and the tools and processes that can help solve them.
